R. MARK MIFFLIN BECOMES FIRST VICE PRESIDENT OF STATEWIDE DEFENSE ATTORNEY ASSOCIATION

R. Mark Mifflin of Giffin, Winning, Cohen & Bodewes, P.C. in Springfield was installed as First Vice President of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC) at the organization’s 50th Annual Meeting, held May 30, 2014.
Mr. Mifflin has served as a member of the IDC Executive Committee for the past two years, previously served as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors and is a three-time recipient of the IDC President’s Award. Mr. Mifflin will become President of the IDC in June 2016.
Mr. Mifflin has extensive experience in all levels of court work - from state administrative agency through the Illinois Supreme Court. Mr. Mifflin earned his B.A., with honors from Western Illinois University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Mr. Mifflin is a former Legislative Staff Intern to the Illinois General Assembly, Clerk for the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois, Clerk for the Illinois Supreme Court and Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of Illinois.
Mr. Mifflin is also actively involved in local organizations, serving as a member and president (2004-2006) of the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors and as a past president and council member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel was organized in 1964 and has more than 1,000 members. The mission of the IDC is to ensure civil justice with integrity, civility and professional competence.
